ANT-CSI FLUORESCENT FINGERPRINT STAINING POWDER

ANT-CSI FLUORESCENT FINGERPRINT STAINING POWDER

ANT-CSI is a useful fluorescent dye used in the development of invisible fingerprints developed with
cyanoacrylate.

Adhesive surfaces of dry transparent and white colored tapes and glass, plastic, metal, bags, ceramics etc. Effective
on all dry non-porous surfaces. It does not perform well on fluorescent backgrounds and can become highly fluorescent
by being absorbed into some substrates.

ANT-CSl is available in solution and powder form. Both offer a long shelf life.

WARNINGS:
  • Wear protective mask, latex gloves and clothing while preparing or using the ANT-CSI dyeing solution.
  • Extinguish all smoking materials and open flames before preparing the ANT-CSI staining solution.
BACKGROUND:
  • In recent years, the use of fluorescent dyes in combination with forensic light sources has achieved spectacular results in the development of invisible marks.
  • ANT-CSI forms fluorescent compounds under ultraviolet (UV) light on chemically polymerized cyanoacrylate traces. The viewing should be in a dark room and the resulting trace will appear to glow against a dark background. ANT-CSI should only be used on tracks developed using cyanoacrylate fuming techniques. For detailed information on cyanoacrylate fumes, see also the technical information supplied with cyanoacrylate products.
  • Because of their translucent, whitish appearance, enhanced cyanoacrylate traces often require curing before they can be successfully recorded. ANT-CSI can be applied on the developed scars by spraying with a spray application or by dripping with pipette application or dipping into the solution. ANT-CSI-enhanced scars are visualized by illuminating them with long or shAVERAGE wavelength ultraviolet (UV) light.
PREPARATION OF THE SOLUTION

The following formula creates 500 ml of solution.

1
Place 1,230 mg of powdered ANT-CSI in a clean mixing bowl that can hold at least 500 ml of liquid. Put 500 ml of ethanol in a clean container.
2
Pour the ethanol into the mixing bowl containing ANT-CSI and mix with the help of magnetic stirrer until the solution is ready.
3
When the solution is ready, label the container as "ANT-CSI Working Solution". Include the preparation date on the label.
4
Specified rates can be adjusted according to the size or smallness of the finding to be examined.

ANT-CSI does not perform well on highly fluorescent backgrounds and can become highly
fluorescent by being absorbed into some substrates. Test an area of the substrate before attempting to
develop advanced marks. Do not use ANT-CSI to enhance if the test area is fluorescent.

ANT-CSI SPECIAL NOTES

After applying ANT-CS1, wait for the paint to dry and harden, air dry each finding completely.

Store unused solution in a tightly closed container. If you purchased the premixed solution in a
spray bottle, remove, clean or replace the spray head.

When fuming with cyanoacrylate, it is recommended that you develop less of the hidden scars rather than over-enhancing the scars.

Excess residue from overdevelopment tends to fill the valleys between the ridges, causing the paint to stain.

It was determined that ANT-CSI did not have any toxic, mutagenic and carcinogenic effects in the biological activity test results. Since ANT-CSI is soluble in water, it should never be contacted with water during and after
the application.

Before applying, especially on tapes with paper-based and strong adhesive properties, they
should be tested for method selection.
